After Horrific Leg Brake , I Will not Retire from Football -Demba Ba

Ex-Chelsea Player, Demba Ba has confirmed he does not plan to retire from football, despite suffering a horrific leg break. The 31-year-old who now plays for Chinese Super League side, Shanghai Shenhua, fractured his left tibia on Sunday, after a tangle with Shanghai SIPG defender, Sun Xiang.

After the match, the Senegal forward’s coach Gregorio Manzano said the injury “could end his professional career”.

Speaking to Radio Monte Carlo from his hospital bed in Shanghai, China, former Chelsea player Demba Ba said:

“This is a really bad injury but I know I can overcome it. I won’t call time on my career, that’s for sure. They haven’t done the full operation because I told them to wait. I wanted to go to Europe to have it done but when I learned that was not possible I arranged with the doctor here to sort me out a French surgeon who should arrive shortly. He will operate on me.”

There are other players who have returned from similar injuries, like Hatem Ben Arfa,” he added. “Something similar happened to me earlier in my career and the treatment options are much better now. I think I’ll make a speedier return this time.

“The season here ends in November and the new one starts in March. I’ll do my best to return in time for the season after that.”

Axe-wielding attacker injures German train passengers

German emergency services workers work in the area where a man with an axe attacked passengers on a train near the city of Wuerzburg, Germany. A man wielding an axe and a knife has been shot dead after injuring at least four people in a rampage on a train outside the German city of Wuerzburg.
Three of the victims are in a serious condition, while another suffered minor injuries, police spokesman Fabien Hench told Sky News.
Another 14 people are being treated for shock.
The attacker appears to have been a 17-year-old refugee from Afghanistan, Bavaria's interior minister Joachim Herrmann has told German media.
It is understood he made his way to Germany as an unaccompanied minor and had been living in the Bavarian town of Ochsenfurt.
The attack took place between Ochsenfurt and Wuerzburg-Heidingsfeld train stations in Bavaria at around 21.15 local time.
The train was brought to a halt during the attack when one passenger pulled the emergency brake, according to Bavarian radio station BR.
The attacker was then shot dead by police as he tried to flee the scene, Mr Hench confirmed.
The police spokesman declined to comment on media reports that the man attempted to attack police officers before he was shot.
He also would not comment on reports suggesting an Islamist motive.
Police originally reported that 15 people were injured in the attack.
